FWD appoints Hideki Yamagishi as Chief Executive Officer for Japan

FWD Fuji Life Insurance Company, Ltd. (“FWD Japan”), today announced the appointment of Hideki Yamagishi as Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FWD Japan, with effect from 12 January 2021, subject to regulatory approval.

Current FWD Japan CEO, Norio Tomono, will step down from his position while continuing to provide executive leadership support in his continuing role as Director of FWD Japan and in his new role as Country Manager for FWD in Japan.

Yamagishi-san will report to Huynh Thanh Phong, FWD Group CEO.

Huynh Thanh Phong, FWD Group CEO, said: “Our appointment of Yamagishi-san reflects the strategic importance we place on the continued growth of our business in Japan, the world’s third largest insurance market. Yamagishi-san joins FWD Japan from NFC Holdings, a JASDAQ-listed company managing Independent Financial Advisor companies, where he was most recently CEO, Japan.
