Newly-created role to transform insurer’s digital journeys for customers and employees

FWD Group (“FWD”) today announced the appointment of Ryan Jong Hoon Kim as Group Chief Digital Officer. In this newly-created role, Ryan will lead FWD’s digital transformation both externally for customers and internally for its employees. Based in Hong Kong, Ryan will report to Rob Schimek, Managing Director & Group Chief Operating Officer.

Ryan brings with him nearly 20 years of experience working in digital strategy roles in the financial services industry. He joins from a leading multinational bank where he had spent the last nine years managing various digital initiatives in Asia. Prior to joining FWD, Ryan was Managing Director & Regional Head of Digital for Greater China & North Asia, where he was the responsible for the digital strategy and business transformation for the bank, spearheading innovation across the North Asia region.

Earlier on in his career, Ryan spent nearly eight years in management consulting specialising in technology, during which he consulted on several executive-level programmes in more than eight countries for industry-leading clients in the insurance, high-tech and telecoms sectors.

Ryan earned his MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his Bachelor of Engineering in Information System from Monash University, Australia.
